God had placed a word on my heart quite a while ago. Every day when I drove downtown in San Diego, I saw the homeless sitting on the streets, or lining up for a night's shelter - I have worked with nonprofits, so in my head I knew these people were probably being fed and finding shelter regularly. Funny, the word really would not go away so in actively seeking what it is that God showed me, it came. Any of these people could go a couple of days without proper shelter or a day without eating, but not without water. Something so basic, seemingly so easily reachable, was not so for them. I admit, I dragged my feet, spoke to my sister and we discussed getting water to the homeless. She suggested the name for the ministry - Waterfall Ministries, because water not only cleanses the fills the body, but the Living Water cleanses and fills the soul. There was really nothing else to do but find out how to start...and that is when God blessed me with a simple search on Facebook and brought me to Tassell Daley. We spoke for well over an hour about her ministry in Florida and how God has grown and blessed it. God spoke to me immediately about finding this sister because he had given me the mission in San Diego that she has already struggled (and continues to fight for daily) for in Florida. I will beginning a blog on blogspot for Waterfall Ministries, continue to pray, speak to my former pastor, my current pastor and close members of my church to assist. I am renewed and re-energized. God is an awesome God and I am so eager to be the first outreach in the West affiliated with Water for Life and Hope for the Homeless. Please pray for the ministry as you pray for Tassel's. We are just beginning as God knew we would through this wonderful connection.Anonymoushttps://www.blogger.com/profile/04434314835078630220noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-7887113535136126071.post-8291923347897870782012-02-02T08:01:44.813-08:002012-02-02T08:01:44.813-08:00Vernon S. Shaloha to eve...Vernon S. Smitley Sr. on Saturday:

Shaloha to everyone involved with this ministry. I know you probably don't recognize me and I wasn't a member of this group until now, I just wanted to share something with you. I saw the emails about this ministry and the water popped out at me, because I was being given bottles of water and I rarely drink them. I was bell ringing for the Salvation Army in the cold, and the coffee seemed to be well supplied. So from seeing the emails, it gave me the idea to set out a bottle of water on the front 'patio' to my apt.building in a sort of inconspicuous place, out of the way, but in full view of the sidewalk. I noticed it was taken within a day or two and I just replaced them every time they were missing. There is a railing going down to the unused basement door and I hung a blanket there. And then I thought, why not just leave my truck doors unlocked? I left a blanket in it. I don't like to blow a trumpet, but I felt that maybe I could give others the ideas I came up with. I pray for your cause and that you all will be blessed beyond measure in your life saving endeavors through and in Christ Jesus. Have a wonderful day. Shalom and aloha,Anonymoushttps://www.blogger.com/profile/04434314835078630220noreply@blogger.com
